Actor Aamir Khan has joined the bandwagon of B-town celebrities who are praising PM Modi’s demonetisation move.
While people are thronging banks and ATMs to withdraw or exchange money,, the actor who is gearing up for the release of his much awaited film said, “What people are facing is short term problem, it is important for India. I’ve no problem even if it affects my film.”
At the launch of the song ‘Haanikaarak Bapu’ from his movie Dangal, the actor was asked if he was affected by the overnight scrapping of the 500 and 1000 rupee notes by prime minister Narendra Modi, to which Aamir said he didn’t have any money in the first place, to be affected.
Aamir said, “I never have money with me. I was not affected at all. Fortunately, I pay all my taxes. So I was not affected.”
The actor insisted that what must needs to be done in Dangalthe larger interest of the nation must be done. Aamir said it was a one off incident where the short-term impact on the common man should not be made the focus of discussion.
Among those from B-town who welcomed the decision were Karan Johar, Rajnikanth, Ajay Devgn, Kamal Hasan, Nagarjuna, Ritesh Deshmukh, Subhash Ghai and Siddharth Malhotra.
