After Donald Trump win, people search ’emigrate to Canada’, ‘end of the world’
The victory of Donald Trump as the 45th President of United States of America surprised the whole world. The authentic 289 electoral votes he got over his rival Hillary Clinton’s 218 even made them wonder how it all happened.
Trump, who made controversies with hate speech and arrogant remarks against minorities was never a favourite. Though stained with the e-mail controversy, all the polls gave Hillary a definitive lead over him. But no one never took seriously that Trump would cruise past her.
Internet users, disheartened by the result started searching for destinations where they would be at peace. One of the favourite was Canada. The search tag “how to emigrate to Canada” became trending within hours. Words like “emigrate” and “Canada” also made into the most searched word today.
The Canada immigration site crashed following the large influx of visitors who were searching for official procedures to emigrate. It happened when the news of Trump winning the important swing states including Florida, Ohio and North Carolina.
When the winner was announced, internet surfers started searching for “end of the world?” in despair.
