LeT activist Omar Khaliq arrested in Kashmir
Umar Khaliq Mir alisas Sameer was arrested near his residence in Tappar area of Baramulla district.
An alleged militant of the Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit was arrested from north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Friday.
Omar Khaliq Mir alisas Sameer was arrested near his residence in Tappar area of Baramulla district. According to Police control room in Sopore, he was arrested in a joint operation carried out by the police and 22nd regiment of the Rajputhana Rifles.
ANI reports that the militant is 23-25 years old and he had been trained in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Four people, including two militants, were arrested last week in north Kshmir's Sopore for allegedly having a role in the ongoing unrest in Kashmir valley.
Police said that the two militants -Gowhar Ahmed Bhat and Hilal Ahmed Gojri- were members of the organisation Tehreek-i-Jehad-i-Islami (TJI) based in Pakistan. Incriminating documents were found in the militants' possession. They were also from Baramulla district.
