Balochistan high court issues arrest warrant against former Pak president Pervez Musharraf
The Balochistan High Court on Monday issued a bailable arrest warrant against former Pakistani dictator Gen Pervez Musharraf in Baloch nationalist leader Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti’s murder case in a military operation in 2006.
As per the report of The Dawn, a divisional bench of the Balochistan High Court ordered during the hearing of review petition challenging exoneration of the 73-year-old former president by an Anti- Terrorism Court in the case.
Justice Jamal Mandokhail and Justice Zaheeruddin Kakar heard a review petition filed by the son of Akbar Bugti, Nawabzada Jamil Bugti.
According to the council of Musharraf, the former president Pervez Musharraf has failed to appear before the court due to security reasons.
The court ordered that the administration should provide proper security to Musharraf while he appears in court.
Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti had led a struggle for the greater autonomy of Balochistan province. Bugti got killed in an operation in Balochistan’s rugged mountains of Taratani in Kohlu district on August 26, 2006.
