In a major breakthrough in the Bengaluru ATM cash van heist, in which van driver Dominic Selvaraj Roy fled with Rs 1.37 crore on Thursday (Nov. 24) in broad daylight in the city, the police arrested his wife Evelyn on Sunday night and recovered Rs 79.8 lakh from her.

She was arrested from a hideout at Banaswadi in Bengaluru. The police are yet to trace Dominic and the remaining cash of Rs 12 lakh.

A day after the heist, the vehicle was found abandoned at Vasanthnagar in the city. The police found Rs 45 lakh, all in Rs 2,000 denomination notes, and a rifle lying untouched in the abandoned van.

According to the police, Dominic’s wife Evelyn had come to the city from Dubai on Nov. 1.

There were reports that Dominic was Evelyn’s second husband and they got married 14 years ago. She has a 22-year-old son named Ryan from her previous marriage.
