Bollywood hails PM Modi’s move to scrap Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes

The move has been lauded by many other Bollywood stars like Ajay Devgn, Rishi Kapoor, Anurag Kashyap, Riteish Deshmukh, Dia Mirza, Bhumi Pednekar and Vishal Dadlani.

After the decision to scraped  Rs 1000 and Rs 500 notes was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday evening, the move has been lauded by many people. Soon after the announcement, which the PM claimed to be a move to start a “decisive war” against black money and corruption, Bollywood stars took to Twitter to welcome the PM’s decision.

Bollywood director-producer Karan Johar described the decision as a “masterstroke move”. He tweeted, “This is truly a masterstroke move!!! @narendramodi hits it out of the stadium!!!”

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan writes,”The new 2000 Rs note is PINK in colour…the PINK effect!!!”

God of Indian cinema Rajinikanth tweeted, “Hats off @narendramodi ji. New india is born #JaiHind.”

Director Madhur Bhandarkar wrote, “Congratulations to @PMOIndia @narendramodi for this bold move to ban 500 and 1000 notes to counter #BlackMoney and strengthen our economy.”
