Brexit campaigner and United Kingdom Independent Party leader Nigel Farage met United States President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday at the latter’s residence in New York.

Farage joked about his visit saying “We’re just tourists!” when he was found waiting for an elevator in Trump’s residence.

Kellyanne Conway, the manager of Trump’s election campaign, later confirmed about the visit when President-elect was spending his time in Trump tower, along with his family.

Farage later tweeted photos of both the leaders smiling in front of a golden door, Trump giving a thumbs up.

UKIP leader gave an indication about their discussions in a later tweet saying Trump’s support for US-UK relation is strong.

Donald Trump’s reaction to Farage’s proposition of putting back Britain’s former prime minister Winston Churchill’s bust in Oval office pleased the Brexit leader.

Farage has reportedly informed Britain’s prime minister Theresa May that he is ready to help her building a good relation with US’s president-elect. Reports suggest that he is likely to become the US ambassador to the UK.

The UKIP leader once spoke at an election rally of Trump, predicting former reality show host would fulfill the needs of disheartened American people in the same way UKIP did during Brexit.
