Demonetisation: Congress stages protests outside Gujarat CM’s residence

Congress workers have staged protests outside the residence of Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and other BJP leaders to highlight the issues faced by the common people on demonetisation drive.

Congress workers have staged protests outside the residence of Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and other BJP leaders to highlight the issues faced by the common people on demonetisation drive.

The protests took place ‘Bharat Bandh’ evening which has called by the opposition parties. While congress made a clarification that they never backed Bharat Bandh.

“Congress was never associated with the Bharat Bandh call. Gujarat congress had only given a call for Gujarat bandh tomorrow, which we have decided to postpone. Instead, our workers will hold demonstrations across the state by observing the day as ‘Jan Akrosh Diwas’,” said Bharatsinh Solanki, state president of congress.

Congress workers staged protests in various parts of the state. In Rajkot, at least 30 congress workers got detained who were protesting outside the bungalow of the chief minister Vijay Rupani.

In Ahmedabad, nearly 50 congress workers detained for staging a protest outside the residence of  former chief minister Anandiben Patel.
