Terror funding has got a slap by demonetisation of high denomination notes as their supply from Pakistan got affected, Lok Sabha was informed by Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday.

“The biggest impact of demonetization is that it has led to a decline in stone pelting incidents in Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from it, the decision has badly hit terror funding,” said Rijiju, Minister of State for Home Affairs during the question hours.

Rijiju said that there has been a big impact in attempts to pump in fake Indian currency notes into the country and after the declaration of demonetisation policy, no such incidents were reported.

While responding to the question of Rama Devi, BJP MP, Rijiju said “There has been a big impact on FICN. Terror funding was also badly hit due to demonetisation while there is a complete halt in paying money to the stone pelters in Kashmir.”

The minister said that Centre and Jammu Kashmir government are jointly working to restore the normalcy in the valley.
