SC to hear all pleas on demonetisation on December 2

The Supreme Court will hear all pleas on demonetisation on 2nd December. This includes the transfer petition filed by the government on the withdrawal of old high denomination notes(OHD).

The court today said that it would examine the inconvenience caused to the people and constitutional validity of the notification on demonetisation.

Senior Lawyer and Congress leader Kapil Sibal, while appearing for one of the petitioners, told the court that people are starving in the streets because there was no cash at all. The chief Justice observed that demonetisation is a very serious matter. The centre has submitted an affidavit stating that it was an attempt to curb black money stashed over last seven decades.
