"In the next few months, Rs. 1,000 notes will also be brought into a new dimension and design," announced Shaktikanta Das, Economic Affairs Secretary today.

The government will soon reintroduce the banned Rs. 1,000 notes with new security features.

“In the next few months, Rs. 1,000 notes will also be brought into a new dimension and design,” announced Shaktikanta Das, Economic Affairs Secretary today.

But the source refused to discuss the details of the note, saying it would be like the new notes, slightly smaller than the original Rs 1,000 note.

As per the sources, all existing denominations will in phases get new security features and be reintroduced.

On Tuesday evening, the Centre demonetised Rs. 500 notes and Rs. 1,000 notes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared it as an attempt to check black or undeclared money. Reserve Bank of India has introduced new Rs. 500 notes and Rs. 2,000 notes with new features.
