Greater Noida: 3 women gangraped by men posing as cops
The assailants also tied up the men of the families, looted their belongings, ate at the house and stole six chicken
In a shocking incident, six men posing as policemen allegedly raped three women, all in their 20s, in Greater Noida’s Rabupura area early on Wednesday morning, The Indian Express has reported.
The assailants tied up the men of the families, looted their belongings, ate at the house and stole six chicken. The women were taken to a Noida hospital for medical examination, the police said. A case has been registered under Sections 376 D (gangrape) and 395 (dacoity) of the Indian Penal Code, Jewar Circle Officer Dileep Singh told the newspaper.
The men claimed they were policemen and had come for an inquiry. “Initially, they told us they were policemen and had come to check if we had any illicit liquor. When I came out of the house to talk to them, they overpowered me and took my wife out and they then pulled out my neighbours in a similar way,” he said.
Police said the families, who work as labourers in a nearby brick kiln, were sleeping when they were woken up by the assailants at 1 am.
The families said the assailants had ransacked their homes. “We have nothing left; we have to begin from scratch. We had been saving money for the last few years for our children. They took everything away,” said a victim.
