Human Rights Only For Terrorists; Harsh Vardhan targets oppn
While the heat continues on Bhopal’s SIMI “encounter”, Union Minister Harsh Vardhan took upon himself to take a dig at the opposition who doubts the actuality of “encounter”.
In a tweet on November 1, Tuesday Vardhan tweeted from his official account using sarcasm and wit, where he targeted the opposition parties along with sections of intelligentsia who had been doubting the “encounter” of eight alleged SIMI terrorists by Madhya Pradesh police on October 31.
He tweeted, “For Afzal, Yakub, Ishrat, Burhan, Batla (House encounter) they’ll cry foul and chatter. Human Rights are for terrorists only, lives of soldiers don’t matter.”

Vardhan also shared a collage comprising media reports on the executions of Parliament attacks convict Afzal Guru, 1993 Mumbai blasts convict Yakub Memon, and killings of Ishrat Jahan and Burhan Wani.
In the wake of “encounter” killing of alleged SIMI terrorists yesterday, several political parties demanded a probe into the matter. There had been media reports analyzing the truth of the claims, after three videos were released of the “encounter”. Following such media reports, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notices to the MP police and MP government.
MP Chief Minister had condemned the questions created on the “encounter” while opposition continued to demand probe into the matter, along with targeting BJP chief Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The seriousness of the matter also comes from the Jail break by the eight alleged SIMI terrorists, which left a constable dead.
Harsh Vardhan has brought to notice the convicts of major terrorists attack on India. Afzal Guru had received death sentence for his involvement in 2001 Indian Parliament attack, and was hanged to death on February 9, 2013.
Yakub Memon was convicted over his involvement in the 1993 Bombay bombings and was hanged to death on July 30, 2015. Ishrat Jahan is an ongoing encounter case where four people were shot dead in 2004.
And Burhan Wani was a Kashmiri Separatist and was killed in an encounter in July 2016, following which the Kashmir valley is suffering huge unrest and loss of lives along with continued emergency which has been imposed in the area.
