Mayawati asks President to summon PM Modi over demonetisation
Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati on Wednesday urged President Pranab Mukherjee to summon Prime Minister Narendra Modi and tell him about the difficulties that people are facing after the decision of demonetisation.
She said, “Through the medium of media I urge the honourable President to summon the PM and give him an ultimatum to solve the problem that the people are facing post demonetisation.”
The Opposition parties have been asking PM Modi to give a statement over demonetisation in the parliament and the government has been rejecting the demand. ON Wednesday Modi briefly sat in Lok Sabha but did speak on the issue which infuriated the opposition more.
Mayawati, asserting that something is suspicious in the entire matter of demonetisation said, “ I want to ask the PM why he is scared? If he has done anything good and in favour of weeding out black money, then why is he scared?
She emphasised that her party is not in support of black money and not even against the decision of the Centre for the eradication of black money. “But a decision should be of a kind in which the common man are not suffering and ruckus and emergency is not create,” she said.
Mayawati said after demonetisation almost 75 people have. “Both houses the Lok Sabha and The Rajya Sabha want Prime Minister Narendra Modi to come TO house and listen to the demands of the opposition,” she said.
Earlier on Wednesday nearly 200 MPs belonging to a more than a dozen political parties came together to protest against the demonetisation by holding a massive dharna and forming a human chain outside Parliament.
