Rahul Gandhi's official Twitter account hacked
Apparently Rahul Gandhi's Twitter handle has been hacked. Objectionable tweets were shared from his account.
The Twitter account of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has apparently been hacked, as is visible from a string of tweets made by the handle. Late in the evening, Twitteratti had a field day after objectionable content was posted through the official handle of Rahul Gandhi @OfficeOfRG . This is the first instance when the official account of a major political leader in India has been hacked. Rahul has been in news lately for his fiery salvos against the demonetisation move of the Narendra Modi-led government and shortcoming of the BJP government in protecting India's borders.
The tweets were deleted within minutes of being detected but the damage was done as twitteratti ensured the matter went viral by taking screenshot of the tweets and trolling the Congress leader. Even after these tweets were deleted, new tweets emerged from the official account. The tweets consisted of abusive language and personal attacks against Rahul and the Gandhi family.

There has been no official word from Rahul Gandhi's camp yet on the incident, but other Congress politicians have stated that his account has been hacked.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala reacted by tweeting, "@OfficeOfRG hacked. Such lowly tactics will never drown sane voice of reason nor deter Rahul Gandhi from raising people's issues."
Rahul Gandhi has over 1.21 million followers on the social media platform.
