70-year-old man dies standing in queue for three days
A 70-year-old man who was standing queue for exchanging his invalid currencies died after he got serious ill in Hathras in Uttar Pradesh.
Siyaram,a resident of Balapatti had been standing in the queue for the last 3 days and failed to exchange the old currencies. He was rushed to a hospital when he got seriously ill and died there, Superintendent of Police Dilip Kumar Srivastava said on Friday.
The deceased had been standing in line before the Canara bank near Burz wala Kuan, the SP said. He added that a huge brigade of Police had been deployed in view of the rush for collecting money from banks.
A fax message to Prime Minister’s Office in New Delhi demanding compensation of Rs 20 lakhs for the family of Siyaram was sent.
