Oprah Winfrey hopeful of a good future under Donald Trump
Popular TV host Oprah Winfrey said, she is confident of a better future for America under Donald Trump. Winfrey spoke on the set of her OWN series, “Greenleaf.”
When Oprah Winfrey was asked if she is interested in running for US president she said, “I feel good. I feel good,” she said, “Thank you. Thank you, thank you,” Winfrey added.
Winfrey further said, she was not expecting the landslide victory for US president elect Donald Trump. When asked if she would ever run to become US president, Winfrey said, “That will never happen to me!”
Winfrey had backed Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in US election, “I think we have, you know, we… America has spoken. That is the one thing I can say will never happen to me.”
Winfrey, added she she has moved away from Hillary’s election defeat. She said all should take the election outcome lightly, now after Trump met US President Barack Obama recently, which turned out to be be very cordial according to Trump.
“I just saw the two of them together, I will say this: I just saw President-elect Trump with President Obama in the White House and it gave me hope,” Winfrey quipped.
“To hear President-elect Trump say that he had respect for President Obama, it felt that he had reached a moment where he was actually humbled by that experience,” she added.
She echoed some of the hot statements that appeared during some media interactions, she had with Associated Press on Thursday, saying that, “Hope is still alive.”
“I could sense, maybe I’m wrong, but I could sense from Donald Trump’s body language even when he came out for the acceptance speech, that has been humbled by this world thing,” she added. “I think it’s a humbling process that now you literally have the weight of the world on your shoulders.”
