Pinarayi Vijayan orders magisterial probe into the encounter killing of maoists
Besides the statutory crime branch inquiry ordered by the DGP, a magisterial probe will also be conducted by the sub collector of Perinthalmanna.
The Government of Kerala has ordered a magisterial probe in to the encounter killing of top Maoist leaders Kuppu Devaraj and Ajitha at Nilambur, last Thursday. Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan in his facebook post said that, besides the statutory crime branch inquiry ordered by the DGP, a magisterial probe will also be conducted by the sub collector of Perinthalmanna.
Minister of PWD and CPIM leader, G.Sudhakaran said that it was the police not the Government that had killed the moaists.'I do not beleive that the CM was informed before hand, everything will come clear in the inquiry' he said at Kozhikkod.

Meanwhile, the relatives of the slain Maoist Kuppu Devaraj refused to receive his body after the autopsy at Medical college Kozhikkod. They alleged that the encounter was fake and staged by the police to eliminate Devaraj. The body will be kept in the morgue till Monday, said the police. DGP Loknath Behra reiterated that it was a retaliatory fire by the thunder bolt as they were left with no other option.
