Pitt gets clean chit in child abuse case; thanks for people's support
The DCFS is now satisfied with the safeguards that are put in place which will allow the children to heal
After Brangelina split, Brad Pitt attended his first public red carpet event on November 10 evening and thanked for all the support he has received.
The red carpet event was in honour of Pitt’s upcoming flick, Allied and E! news reported that Pitt was on hand for a fan Q&A. He also stopped to say a few words about filming the highly anticipated film as well as how he's been doing since the split news.
Reportedly, he spent a good amount of time signing fans' autographs, he expressed his happiness to spend time with those excited to meet him. "It's really sweet, everyone has been really kind out here," he explained before adding, "It's really nice to have all the support."
In an earlier report by E! News, it had been claimed that Pitt has been officially cleared of the child abuse allegations by the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). The case was prompted due to an incident involving the actor and his eldest son Maddox on a private airplane back on September 14.
In her divorce statement, Angelina Jolie Pitt had claimed that there was a pattern of misconduct on Brad Pitt’s part, but DCFS didn’t buy the claim. The report by TMZ informed that the case was exhaustively investigated where Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie Pitt, the kids and witnesses on the plane were interviewed. Everyone cooperated in the investigation. No further action will be taken.
The DCFS found that Angelina's ex did not commit any child abuse during the incident. The final conclusion is a repudiation of sorts of allegations made by Angelina, who claimed Brad intentionally and without justification struck the boy.
"The job of the DCFS is to make sure the children are in a safe and secure situation. As we said earlier this week, childcare professionals encouraged a legal agreement accepted and signed by both sides that was in the best interest of the children. Angelina said from the beginning that she felt she had to take action for the health of the family and is relieved that after their 8-week involvement, the DCFS is now satisfied the safeguards are put in place that will allow the children to heal," a statement from Jolie Pitt’s side said.
Jolie Pitt had asked for sole custody of kids, but a few days back Pitt applied for Joint custody and Court seems to be on his part, the reports said.
The reports also informed that yesterday, Brad Pitt was also seen with fans but in a more intimate setting—at a private screening for Moonlight, a film that his production company is linked to.
