Yesterday, President had assured Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that he would seek a report from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

On the twenty-fourth day of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Najeeb Ahmed’s disappearance, President Pranab Mukherjee asked Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to submit a detailed report on the whereabouts of the missing JNU scholar.

Yesterday, President had assured Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that he would seek a report from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

A student of School of Biotechnology, Najeeb has been missing since October 15 after allegedly having a brawl with ABVP members. He is a resident of Badaun in Uttar Pradesh.

Najeeb’s mother and sister were detained on Sunday when they, along with a large gathering of protesting students tried to organise a protest demonstration to India Gate demanding to step up of efforts in locating Najeeb.

Fatima Nafees, mother of Najeeb, was seen dragged into a bus by police along with other protesting students when they were on their way to India Gate. The action triggered much criticism from many including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who visited the police station.

Meanwhile, CNN-NEWS18 reported as MHA sources saying President has not sought for a report on Najeeb’s whereabouts.
