PV Sindhu, Sameer Verma make it to Hong Kong Open Super Series singles finals
Indian badminton players PV Sindhu and Sameer Verma make it to the Hong Kong Open Super Series singles finals.
Indian badminton superstar, Rio Olympics silver medallist, PV Sindhu made it to her third Hong Kong Super finals and will vie for the title by facing Taiwan's Tai Tzu Ying on Sunday. Earlier in the day, Sameer Verma beat Jan O. Jorgensen to reach the men's finals for the first time in his career. Sindhu defeated Cheung Ngan Yi of Hong Kong 21-14, 21-16 and avenged former world number 1 Saina Nehwal who lost to Cheng on Friday.
An unfancied Sameer Verma stunned world No. 3 Jan O Jorgensen by beating him in straight sets 21-19, 24-22 to meet Long Angus in Hong Kong Open men's singles finals. This is Verma's first ever Super Series final.
