Delhi Police detains Rahul again, Central Delhi awash with Congress workers

Police led him to a police jeep and took him first to Parliament Street police station and then to Tughlak Road police station. According to the police, the reason for the detention is 'Rahul's safety'

Rahul Gandhi was detained by the police from Jantar Mantar when he  was with a large group of congress workers gathered to protest against the suicide of Ram Kishan Grewal, a retired subedar in the army.

Police led him to a police jeep and took him first to Parliament Street police station and then to Tughlak Road police station. According to the police, the reason for the detention is ‘Rahul’s safety’. But the congress has alleged that the real intention is to halt the protest march which was to be led by the Congress Vice President. Rahul Gandhi lashed out it calling a murder of democracy as it was a denial of the right to dissent.

Rahul Gandhi was detained twice yesterday when he had attempted to meet the family of Grewal who took his own life over the insufficient pension. Arvind Kejriwal was also detained for hours by the Delhi police.
