Rajnath Singh to attend Fidel Castro's funeral as India's representative
United Kingdom's Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn announced he would be participating in the function while the other leaders from the country decided to stay away
Union Home Minister Rajnath will attend the funeral of Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro who passed away on 26, November.
Castro who led Cuba nearly five decades as its leader died on Saturday when his brother and president Raul Castro announced it through State Television.
Castro ruled the country from 1976 to 2008 before handing over the powers to his brother Raul Castro. In 2006, Fidel had retreated from public sphere following an emergency surgery for intestinal bleeding, and had temporarily handed over the power to his younger brother and defence minister Raul.
Upon hearing the news, many Indian leaders including President Pranab Mukherjee,Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rajnath paid tribute to the Cuban leader.
The funeral of the revolutionary,which is scheduled for this week, will be attended by many leaders.

CPI(M) leader Prakash Karat visited Cuban embassy in Delhi and paid his tributes to the Cuban revolutionary on Sunday.
Cuba has announced 9 days of national mourning since his death and planned for a huge gathering on December 3 followed by Castro's internment on December 4.
