RSS Leadership Meets BJP Ministers to Develop Strategies for UP Election
As a part of developing the strategies for the Uttar Pradesh elections, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leadership is meeting about 30 union ministers of BJP today. The main goal of the meeting is getting BJP into sync with its ideological mentor.
“There is the need for the BJP and the RSS to calibrate their strategy for the UP polls like we did in the Assam polls. The RSS does not want a Bihar-like situation where poor coordination impacted the outcome,” said a senior RSS leader, NDTV reports.
Some official sources in BJP have revealed that RSS had a plan of finalising a code of conduct for the UP election. During the last Bihar assembly polls, statements made by RSS supremo Mohan Bhagwat and BJP leaders including VK Singh backfired in its election campaigns, and BJP was thrown into a shocking defeat. In the present conditions, RSS keeps its hopes high in UP. With a better coordination and strategy, they are eying for an emphatic victory in the election.
However, BJP has not reached a consensus on the leading face of the election campaign. That creates a problem in fixing a central agenda for the campaign. According to the BJP leadership, there will be a discussion about improving communication between union ministers and RSS leadership. The prospect of BJP’s election campaign will depend hugely on the cadre strength that RSS is having in UP. So the meeting’s another important objective is making plans for using RSS cadres to disseminate the achievements of Modi Government.
RSS deputy chief Dattatreya Hosbole is expected to be presiding over the meetings. BJP chief Amit Shah will attend some important discussions and home minister Rajnath Singh and Finance Min Arun Jaitley will also participate.
