Samajwadi Party MP Akshay Yadav throws papers at Speaker Sumitra Mahajan
While the heated debates and arguments continued in both houses of Parliament over demonetisation, unruly scene led to adjournment of Lok Sabha till 12 PM.
Samajwadi Party MP Akshay Yadav tore some papers and threw at Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan following which the house was adjourned till 12 noon. An angry Speaker Mahajan adjourned the house till 12 PM. Action is expected to be taken against Mr Yadav.
It is to be noted that Akshay Yadav is the member of Parliament from Firozabad. He is the son of Rajya Sabha MP Ram Gopal Yadav and nephew of SP president Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Interestingly, SP had initially supported the demonetisation move but as the opposition started getting closer over the complaints of poor implementation of the government decision, the party appeared to have switched sides.
Earlier, the opposition members obstructed the proceedings in both the houses demanding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi must come to Parliament and listen to the debates and give a reply on the demonetisation decision. Yesterday Prime Minider attended Lok Sabha but kept quiet, and today he is in Rajya Sabha.
It is the seventh day in a row when opposition disrupted the proceedings in the two houses over the absence of PM Modi from Parliament.
