Mayawati says SP won’t return to power, calls BJP anti-Dalit
Attacking both the BJP and Samajwadi Party on Saturday, BSP supremo Mayawati said SP’s hopes to return to power won’t be fulfilled as people do not believe them even if they try to hide the internal rift.
Referring to the ongoing discussion regarding the grand political alliance in UP, she said the efforts reflects that the Samajwadi Party has already accepted their defeat. Confirming BSP won’t form alliance with any party in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh, she said the grand alliance will only help the BJP in the state.
Mayawati earlier said she is confident in returning as UP chief minister saying “BSP is way ahead of everybody else. BJP is a distant second, Samajwadi Party is already out of the reckoning and Congress was never in the picture at all,” TOI reported.
The voters in UP are really unhappy with the policies of both the BJP at the Centre and SP in the state, she added.
She also claimed that several schemes, including the metro and expressway projects, that SP was taking credit had been brought by BSP government, and “the names of the schemes have been changed” now.
