Republican Nominee Donald Trump becomes the 45th President of United States of America defeating Hillary Clinton.
Florida, which holds for 29 electoral votes gave Trump a much necessary lead for Trump who was lagging behind Clinton on Electoral votes. Trump has a lead of 289 with electoral votes against Hillary’s 218.
Trump gained 48% of popular votes where his rival managed to get only 47%.
Results from swing states helped Trump to clinch the presidency despite month long campaign in favour of Hillary.
Of 538 electoral votes,winning candidate needed 270 to win the presidency.
The atmosphere at Clinton headquarters is seen to be down with turnout of results. Hillary officially conceded the defeat and called Trump.
While addressing a jubilant crowd of supporters, elected President said it was the time for all Americans to come together . "It was a not a campaign, but a movement. And our's was a great movement," he told supporters.
He assured everyone that he will be every American's president. "I will be the President of all Americans," Trump said.
He added that his task was to rebuild the nation. "We need to be united to rebuild US. Our task is to rebuild our nation."
Trump shared some of his plans to "make America great again". "I have a great economic plan. I will rebuild the infrastructure," he said to a standing ovulation.
"No challenge is too great" he stressed to the nation confidently. He also thanked everybody who helped him in the campaign to become President. He specifically mentioned his family.
"I want to thank my family for their all support," he said with a smile to family members who were with him on the podium.
After the address, he spent some time with his supporters down the stage.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Trump saying India was looking forward to work with America.
