UAE Remembers campaign honours martrys
UAE Remembers campaign organised by Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office began on Saturday at the Abu Dhabi ahead of annual Commemoration Day on 30th November.
The event was conducted under the aegis of Crown Prince’s Court. It seeks to enable the UAE’s citizens to show their respect and gratitude to security personnel who laid down their lives to protect the nation.
It provides an avenue to UAE’s diverse communities to show their support and stand with the country’s leadership in its efforts to provide a safe, secure and tolerant environment for all.
The Commemoration Day is one of the grandest national event of UAE and encourages participation of the entire community, the Emirati nationals as well as people from 200 nationalities who reside in the country.
This year’s campaign recalls the sacrifices made by all the heroes of the Union. It pays rich tribute to their parents who taught their children to love their nation and safeguard its values, honour and sovereignty. It will also reflect the emirates’ commitment to the safety, security and tolerance of the region as a whole.
The initiative aims to uphold four key causes – nurturing the pride people feel for the country’s heroes; immortalising the memory of those who laid down their lives for the nation; feeling gratitude for the cohesion and unity that characterise the UAE and celebrating the Commemoration Day, an annual event, and a dedicated occasion to show respect through remembrance.
The UAE Remembers campaign follows the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to honour the sacrifices made by the nation’s heroes, and also showing the respect and appreciation that His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has for the families of these national heroes.
