After 8 days in hospital, Karunanidhi returns home
He was taken to his home at Gopalapuram, accompanied by DMK leaders MK Stalin, Durai Murugan and Kanimozhi
Eight days after been hospitalised for nutrition and hydration support, DMK president and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M Karunanidhi on Wednesday night was discharged from Kauveri hospital in Chennai. He was hospitalised on 1st December.
Due to ill health, the 93-year-old patriarch could not attend funeral ceremonies of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa and political commentator Cho Ramaswamy.
“After medical treatment, he had improved substantially and was discharged from the hospital today. All his vital signs and biochemical parameters have normalised now,” said a statement from the hospital.

He was taken to his home at Gopalapuram, accompanied by DMK leaders MK Stalin, Durai Murugan and Kanimozhi. However, the hospital said though Karunanidhi could return home, doctors would continue to monitor his health until he was completely recovered.
