Delhiites welcomed Monday with moderate fog, as minimum temperatures in and around Delhi plummeted to 7 degree Celsius on Monday, thus, delaying 24 trains and 23 flights to/from Delhi.

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) warned mercury levels to hover around single digits over the next few days. “The conditions are going to remain similar. The minimum temperature is going to range between 7-9 degrees and is unlikely to decrease further within this week itself.”


According to the reports, at least 24 trains were delayed and 5 others were rescheduled on Monday as dense fog blanketed Delhi-NCR and other parts of north India. One train was cancelled due to bad weather conditions.







The visibility was recorded at 400 metres at 5:30 am, reports said.

“Six international and nine domestic arrivals have been delayed whereas two flights have been cancelled. Among the departure flights, eight have been delayed and two cancelled,” an airport official told CNN News18.

IMD has predicted the skied to remain clear as the day progresses, with the temperature ranging around 23 degree Celsius.

On Sunday, the minimum temperature touched 7.2 degree Celsius, which was a degree below normal for the season. The maximum temperature hovered around 22 degrees Celsius during the day.
