Dense fog disrupts flight, train operations in Delhi
With minimum temperature recorded at 11.9 degrees Celcius, New Delhi witnessed foggy morning for the second day.
Meteorological Department official said visibility early in the morning was less than 50 metres, disrupting flight operations and rail traffic.
“The sky will remain clear during the day with moderate to dense fog in the morning,” the official said, reported India Today.
The fog seems to have disrupted flight services. Jet Airways tweeted: “Please check your flight status.”
“#TravelUpdate: Due to poor visibility because of #fog at #Delhi, we’re expecting delays on all arrivals and departures from Delhi airport,” Jet Airways said in another tweet.
“Few of our flights have been affected due to bad weather at Delhi,” said IndiGo Airlines in a tweet.
On Wednesday 13 flights were diverted due to poor visibility at the Indira Gandhi International Airport and 50 north-bound trains were delayed.
According to railway officials, 50 Delhi-bound services from Patna, Ranchi, Howrah, Bhubaneswar and other places were affected due to the thick fog cover.
