Bollywood superstar of Yesteryears Dharmendra has been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai as he was suffering from gastro infection and is recovering now.
Reportedly, the veteran actor was admitted to Nanavati Hospital last afternoon and was put on antibiotic treatment after he suffered gastroenteritis, an intestinal infection marked by diarrhoea, cramps, nausea, vomiting and fever, doctors said.
Dr Vishesh Agarwal, MD (medicine), NSSH told, “He responded well to the treatment and the infection has subsided. Looking at his health conditions, we believe he will not need longer hospitalisation." However, the doctors added that they will keep the iconic star under observation for 48 hours and will take a call on discharge, considering his recovery in the period.
It is to be noted that in May last year, the actor was taken to the Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai after he sustained injuries on the set of his film. He had also undergone a shoulder surgery for the injury.
The Bollywood legend celebrated his 81st birthday early this month.
