A statement issued by the Kauvery hospital in the city’s Alwarpet area said the 92-year-old DMK chief was stable and would remain at the facility for a few days for his treatment. "Karunanidhi [has been] admitted for optimisation of nutrition and hydration. He's stable... [and is being] treated by a team of doctors. He will be in hospital for a few days," a statement said.
News of the former state chief minister’s admission to the hospital comes even as current Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is recovering at another hospital in the state capital.
