Hyderabad: 1 dead in building collapse, 10 feared trapped

One person has been found dead after a building under construction in Hyderabad collapsed on Thursday night, Indian Express has reported. About 10 families, mostly labourers, were living in the premises of the building, according to Hyderabad Mayor B Rammohan. Several people are still trapped under the debris.

Two people including a child were rescued from under the debris and shifted to the hospital early on Friday. According to Hyderabad Mayor B Rammohan, about 10 families, mostly labourers, were living in the premises of the building and are still trapped inside. Initial investigations have revealed that building was illegal.The builder has been absconding and the police have launched a manhunt to arrest him.

On Thursday, Telangana Home Minister N Narsimha Reddy and several other leaders and officials rushed to the spot. Reddy said violation of rules has been noticed in the construction of the building. Resucue operation is still underway.
