IPL 10: 63 players released, Kings XI Punjab enters auction with maximum funds

As Indian Premier League teams set for new season, the franchises have released 63 players including top stars, while retained as many as 140 cricketers, including 44 overseas players.
Ahead of the 2017 auction, all franchises announced their list of cricketers retained for next year's tournament the transfer window ended on December 15.
Among the players released, the biggest names included English batting star Kevin Pietersen, South African pacer Dale Steyn, and England’s Eoin Morgan and Indian pacer Ishant Sharma.
Among all the 8 teams, Rising Pune Supergiants , Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders were the franchises to release a major chunk of the players.
Delhi Daredevils released Pawan Negi, whom they paid Rs 8.5 crore, after he couldn’t feature in most of the matches for the team, while Kolkata Night Riders have released few of their overseas players including Jason Holder, Colin Munro, John Hastings, Brad Hogg and Morkel.
In addition to Morgan, Sunrisers Hyderabad sent Trent Boult and Ashish Reddy out of team.
This year, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) will enter the IPL 2017 Players' Auction with maximum funds, having Rs 23.35 crore for the auction in the pocket.
