In the latest display of love to their beloved Amma and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, Chennaiites have made a 68-kg idli moulded in the shape of her face at the city’s famous Marina Beach.

The AIADMK supreme passed away on December 5 at the age of 68 after being hospitalized for nearly two months at Apollo in Chennai. She was buried near the MGR memorial at Marina Beach.

This may be an unusual way of expressing their love, but it’s not the first time that the late politician’s followers have done something like this. A politician has even built a temple in her memory in Thanjavur.

People’s obsession with the AIADMK former chief has seen and touched bizarre levels of craziness with women setting themselves on fire for her cause.

According to AIADMK, 470 people died of grief after news of Jayalalithaa’s death was announced. The Tamil Nadu government, now led by O Panneerselvam, has declared a relief package of Rs 3 lakh to each of the families of those who died of grief.
