'Jayalalitha died' is the top trend on search engines globally

"J Jayalalithaa died" is the top trending term on Google search globally for the last three hours. Local media claimed earlier "Tamil Nadu CM passes away" but had retracted the story by late evening.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, who has been in the hospital since September 22, is battling for her life, with conflicting reports saying Jayalalithaa is dead. "J Jayalalithaa died" is the top trending search term on Google globally for the last three hours. But Apollo Hospitals denied Tamil media reports that had said Jayalalithaa passed away.

Several news channels recanted their report after Apollo issued a statement stating reports of her death were false. It is expected that Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao will make an important announcement today at 11 pm. Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu is already at the hospital.

Entrance to the Apollo Hospitals looks like a police fortress with police keeping die-hard AIADMK supporters away along with the media.

It was earlier reported by local media that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa passed away on Sunday, after she suffered a cardiac arrest. Paneerselvam is expected to lead the party in such a scenario.

AIADMK workers threw stones at police and media after a Tamil TV channel said she was no more. The irate workers created a ruckus at Greams Lane in which Apollo is situated. The AIADMK party headquarters had the flag at half-mast for a short period of time.

Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao landed yesterday from Mumbai and took charge.

Apollo administration maintains that she is undergoing treatment, rubbishing all news reports stating the CM of Tamil Nadu is no more. Jayalalithaa’s health had remained critical throughout Monday. A team of specialist doctors has been working round the clock to help her recover from a cardiac arrest she reportedly suffered Sunday evening. Ever since, the chief minister had been put on life support systems including ventilator.

Thousands of followers gathered outside the Apollo hospital since Sunday evening. Supporters were seen weeping inconsolably and praying for their “Amma” or mother, as she was endearingly known.

After news came in that Home Minister Rajnath Singh called Tamil Nadu Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao to enquire about the health of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, sources in the Governor's office have revealed that the Governor will be joined by Rajnath to make an important announcement at 11 pm tonight.

NaradaNews.com doesn't want to speculate on what the announcement can be. Rao was asked by Rajnath Singh to take stock of the situation earlier in the day after the chief minister of Tamil Nadu was reported to have suffered a cardiac arrest

The chief minister was admitted to Apollo hospital late on September 22 with complaints of fever and dehydration.
