In a major fire incident, around 900 LPG cylinders caught fire in Chinthamani town of Karnataka on Sunday night.
According to media reports, the explosions continued for nearly three hours. Fire tenders rushed to the spot and successfully doused the fire after three hours.
Many vehicles were damaged and the loss is pegged at Rs 70 lakhs, NDTV reported.
No causalities have been reported in the incident yet. Debris from the blast were scattered in half kilometre radius.
Police forces have also reached the spot to take stock of the situation. The blast led to huge fire that engulfed two trucks and a Bolero vehicle.
Though the exact reason for the blaze has not yet been ascertained, a short circuit in the battery of one of the trucks is suspected to have caused the explosion, reported The Indian Express.
In December last year, a similar blaze in a Mumbai slum killed one person and injured three others.
