Kashmir: Two army jawans injured in an encounter with militants

Two jawans have been reportedly injured in an encounter that broke out between security forces and terrorists at Shahgund Hajin in Bandipora District in Jammu and Kashmir on wee hours of Thursday morning.

According to a Times Now report, the incident took place this morning when terrorists attacked a search party. The condition of injured jawans is said to be stable. Acting on specific intelligence input about the presence of militants in Shahgund village of Hajin area of the district, security forces had cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. While the forces were conducting the search operation, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter.


On 14th December security forces gunned down Abu Bakr, one of the top commanders of terror outfit Laskar-e-Taiba, in an encounter between terrorists and security forces in Sopore area's Bomai village in Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir

On November 25, in an encounter between terrorists and security forces in Bandipora, two terrorists and an Army jawan were killed. Over the last few months there has been a sudden rise in militant attacks on security forces across the valley.
