Kerala: Rotten eggs hurled at Rajmohan Unnithan
It may be recalled that Unnithan on Tuesday evening resigned from the post of party spokesperson after Muraleedharan spoke against him
A group of Congress activists, allegedly owing allegiance to K Muraleedharan MLA, hurled rotten eggs at the vehicle in which party leader Rajmohan Unnithan was travelling, in front of the DCC office in Kollam, Kerala, on Wednesday.
As soon as the car reached the office, the activists barged before the vehicle and damaged it, seeking Unnithan’s ouster from the party.
It may be recalled that Unnithan on Tuesday evening resigned from the post of party spokesperson after Muraleedharan spoke against him.
In response, Unnithan gave a lengthy address to the media, during which he even equated Muraleedharan to a prostitute, and announced his resignation.
Unnithan said what he had uttered against Muralidharan was true and if it is proved false, then he is ready to tender an apology.
Despite such violent protests, Unnithan did not return, instead he stepped out of the car and went inside the office.
Following this, a verbal dispute broke out between those owing allegiance to Murali and that of Unnithan. The situation was brought under control due to the intervention of some senior leaders.
