LDF holds 700km-long human chain against demonetisation in Kerala
The massive mobilisation by CPIM, the leading party in LDF comes at a time when the party is troubled with BJP's National Democratic Front building support base in the state
The ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala held a "human chain" of almost 700 km long on Thursday evening to protest against the Centre's demonetisation policy.
The massive mobilisation by CPIM, the leading party in LDF comes at a time when the party is troubled with BJP's National Democratic Front building support base in the state.
In return, state BJP chief Kummanam Rajasekharan observed a 24-hour fast against the LDF government's allegedly anti-people policies.
According to a statement issued by BJP, Rajasekharan wants the left government to restore distribution of rice in ration shops and end increasing incidents of violence against Dalits.
The demonstration of LDF was attended by key leaders of the ruling LDF including chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan along with his cabinet colleagues while reports said that national leaders of BJP attended the Rajasekharan's protest.
