Director Madhur Bhandarkar has released the first look of his upcoming film titled �Indu Sarkar�.
Director Madhur Bhandarkar has released the first look of his upcoming film titled “Indu Sarkar”.
Bhandarkar took to twitter to announce the beginning his new project asking people’s support and blessing. The poster features a woman's silhouette with handcuffs against the backdrop New Delhi's iconic landmarks - India Gate and the Parliament House.
It is said that Bhandarkar’s upcoming movie is on the 21-month long emergency imposed by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and stars 'Pink' fame Kirti Kulhari as the eponymous lead.
Speaking of her role in the film, Kirti had earlier said, “Indu is raised in an orphanage and has a stammering problem but loves to write and read poetry… After ‘Pink’, I wanted to do something that would challenge me further as an actor. We want to create the same impact as Tabu’s turn in ‘Chandni Bar’ with my character.”
The movie has already been in the news for its controversial subject and its mercurial director's track record.The film, also stars Bhandarkar’s 'Jail' lead Neil Nitin Mukesh in a pivotal role.
Madhur Bhandarkar debuted as director in 1999 film “Trishakti” and won his first National Award for “Chandini Bar” starring Tabu in 2001. He again won the National Award in 2003 for “Page 3” and then for 2007 film “Traffic Signal”.
His other popular films are “Fashion” starring Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut and “Aan: Men at Work” with Akshay Kumar. Madhur Bhandarkar's “Corporate” was inducted as case study for IIM Ahmedabad.
