Paytm gets new security feaure to increase security
The new feature has ensured that user need to be able to access not just the phone but also gives a secondary layer of security for the Paytm app.
E-commerce website Paytm has recently announced that it has launched a new security measure that allows its users to add a lock on all transactions from their wallet.
According to NDTV report, the security feature has been released only to Android users at present - though fingerprint security is coming soon for iOS.
Earlier, people can make payment by using any phones that has Paytm app. The new feature has ensured that user need to be able to access not just the phone but also gives a secondary layer of security for the Paytm app.
The report said the security feature uses Android's authorisation mechanism, and so it will only work on a phone that has a screen lock - it can be a PIN, password, pattern, or fingerprint - which is something we'd strongly urge all readers to enable anyway.
The Paytm should be updated to the latest version and after that when user starts Paytm Android app and tap on the Pay, or Passbook, buttons, an advisory pops up informing you of the new security feature.
Tap Add Security Feature to get started with the Paytm security feature, and confirm your PIN or pattern or password.
After users enable the additional Paytm security, they can try and make a payment, or read the Passbook, at which time you'll have to enter your PIN or pattern or password, or Privacy Protection Password, if you've set that up under the Lock Screen settings in your Android settings.
After PM Modi announced the demonetisation of high value notes, people have started using Paytm and other e-payment methods.
