PM Modi has firebombed poor, farmers with demonetisation: Rahul Gandhi
I urged PM Modi to waive off the loans of the farmers, he didn't reply, didn't speak a word: Rahul Gandhi
Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Monday lambasted Prime Minister Narendra Modi over demonetisation saying that the move was not a fight against the corrupt but against the poor.
Addressing a rally in Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh, the Congress vice-president said: "Demonetisation was not a fight against the corrupt. It was a fight against the poor, the farmer, the under-privileged. Prime Minister Modi has not just dried up the money of the poor, he also took out their blood."
"During the meeting with PM, we have told him that our farmers are crying everyday. I also urged him to wave off the loans of the farmers," Rahul said, adding that, PM did not reply. "He did not speak a word. This is the truth of India. "
"PM Modi, this is not a surgical strike against black money. You have firebombed the poor and farmers," Rahul said.
Barely an hour after PM Modi hailed youth of the country in Kanpur rally earlier in the day, Rahul mocked, "What happened to your promise of 2 crore jobs year-on-year? You've made a mockery of the youth. You've destroyed their lives."
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said youth is the biggest strength of the nation and will carry India to a new heights. He was addressing a Parivartan Rally in Kanpur.
“If the youth of Uttar Pradesh come together, then nothing can stop India from progressing. Countries with youthful populations progress at a much faster pace.India has a majority of its population under the age of 35 and this will increase further. Our youth is our biggest strength and will carry India to new heights,”
