Policeman caught on camera helping thieves in Delhi Metro
According to Hindustan Times, a group of women were caught after a US national complained that her possessions were stolen while travelling in Delhi Metro
A Delhi Police head constable was suspended on Wednesday who allegedly caught on CCTV camera when he was helping thieves for a burglary at a Delhi Metro station. The constable was caught on camera accepting something allegedly considered as a reward from the thieves and pocketing it.
According to Hindustan Times, a group of women were caught after a US national complained that her possessions were stolen while travelling in Delhi Metro. When Police examined the CCTV footage, it was found that the gang comprised of six women and were also seen with the head constable in question.
Reports say that the Delhi Police asked CISF t give more such footages to check whether any other cops were involved in a similar "nexus". All six gang members were arrested on December 13, and jewellery worth of Rs 22 lakh was recovered.
“According to the complainant, an NRI couple, they boarded the train going towards Gurgaon around 2pm on December 9 from New Delhi Railway Station. They reached Chattarpur at 3pm and noticed that the zip of the woman’s bag was open,” a CISF official was quoted by Hindustan Times.
