Rajinikanth, who suffered a knee injury on the sets of his upcoming film "2.0" or "Enthiran 2" while shooting Kelambakkam in Chennai, has gone under treatment at Chettinad hospital and is recovering.

The incident occurred while the actor was filming an actions sequence. Rajinikanth fell while filming a crucial scene and hurt one of his knees. He was taken to Chettinad hospital where the superstar underwent treatment for about half an hour. Later, he returned home," a source from the film's unit told IANS.

Apparently, the wound was minor and the actor resumed shooting on the very same day.

The shooting of “2.0”, a science film in which Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar play the lead roles, is progressing at a brisk pace and is slotted to release in Diwali 2017. Amy Jackson will be seen as the female protagonist in the film, which stars Sudhanshu Pandey, Adil Hussain, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Maya Krishnan and others in supporting roles.

The budget of 2.0 has been increased to a massive Rs 400 crore. The makers had earlier projected it to be Rs 350 crore. It will be the biggest-ever film made in India in terms of budget.

The movie is being made in multiple languages since it would help the film recover its investment and make profits. It will come out simultaneously in many languages, including Japanese.
