RBI to roll out new Rs 20, Rs 50 notes
The year of printing '2016' printed on the reverse of the banknote, RBI said in a release.
The Reserve Bank of India is set to release more new notes, which are Rs 20 and Rs 50 notes, but this time the old notes will still be valid unlike the old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes.
According to media reports, the new notes will contain an inset letter 'L' in both the number panels, bearing signature of RBI governor Urjit Patel.
The central banking institution will also shortly issue Rs 50 denomination banknotes in the Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005.

"The design and security features of these banknotes will be similar to the banknotes of Rs 20 denomination with the ascending font of numerals in both the number panels and without intaglio print issued earlier in Mahatma Gandhi Series- 2005," RBI said in a release.
