Sasikala Natarajan elected as AIADMK General Secretary
AIADMK has unanimously passed the resolution to work under the leadership of Sasikala Natarajan.
Sasikala Natarajan has been unanimously elected as the general secretary of AIADMK in the first general body meeting of the party after the demise of former Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa. The meeting was started around 9.30 am on Thursday at Venkitachalapathy Mandapam, Vanagaram, Chennai. It is said that none of those who have opposed Sasikala have been invited for the meeting.
Minister K Palanisamy paid homage to Jayalalithaa followed by Chief Minister O Panneerselvam. OPS said he trusts Sasikala’s ability to lead the party.

Meanwhile, apart from adopting a resolution to work under the leadership of Sasikala Natarajan, the AIADMK also passed 14 resolutions including one that Jayalalithaa’s birthday be celebrated as ‘National Farmers Day’. Further, the party has demanded that Amma be conferred with the Magsaysay Award and Nobel prize for World Peace.
After the death of Jayalalithaa, senior party leaders have urged Sasikala to take charge of party general secretary. Though controversies made her tight-lipped it was almost sure that she would be the successor of ‘Amma’. As per the latest news, some of them also wish Sasikala to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
