Slain Maoist Devaraj was shot from front and back says the preliminary autopsy report
According to the preliminary autopsy report of the slain Maoists Kuppuswamy aka Kuppu Devaraj and Ajitha submitted in the court, the deceased leader Devaraj was shot nine times from a distance using similar kind of bullets.
He suffered injuries both in his chest and back. The report says that there were four entry wounds on the front of the body and four on the back. The fatal injuries include perforation of heart, lungs, liver and diaphragm.
The report also suggests that he was shot first from the front on the left side of the chest. Four bullets were recovered during the autopsy.
However, details of the post mortem examination of Ajitha has not been accessible to the media.
According to police they were killed in retaliatory firing by the police party during a raid in the Karulayi forest area of Nilambur Kerala on 24 November.
