P. Rama Mohana Rao sacked, Girija Vaidyanathan appointed Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu
Girija is an officer belonging to the 1981 batch of Indian Administrative Service.
Hours after the raids ended at Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary P. Rama Mohana Rao's house, he has been sacked and Girija Vaidyanathan is announced to take over the charge immediately.
According to a government order, Girija Vaidyanathan, Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner of Land Administration has been appointed Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu in place of P. Rama Mohana Rao, a government order said.

Reports have said that she will also hold full additional charge of Vigilance Commissioner and Commissioner for Administrative Reforms.
Girija is an officer belonging to the 1981 batch of Indian Administrative Service. She has two-and-a-half years to go for her retirement.
Earlier she held the post of Health Secretary between 2011 and 2012, and has been transferred from the post of Commissioner of Land Administration.
The raids at Rao's residence and other 11 locations yielded Rs 30 lakh in new Rs 2,000 notes, five kilograms of gold and documents with details of undisclosed assets worth about Rs 5 crore.
